The Giant Mountains
pindlerův Mlýn
pindlerův Mlýn is nowadays rightly placed at the first place among mountain resorts on the southern Czech side of the Giant Mountains. Once it was called the pearl of the mountain. Convenient climatic conditions and strong aesthetic effect of mountain environment created conditions for establishment of a center, whose special value for tourist trade, summer tourism, winter sports and recreation is not fungible in the Giant Mountains. Its nature, as far as the interest of foreigners is concerned it constantly goes beyond the boarders of our state.
In the heart of the Giant Mountains the centre of the town has extraordinarily beautiful and favourable location. It is situated in a valley thourgh which still young Elbe and Dolský brook run . pindlerův Mlýn is protected from all sides by mountain zones of inland Czech ridge: Kozí hřbety, Pláně and Krkono ended with Medvědín. Just a narrow pass between mountain forked branch, through which a future European large stream Elbe makes its way southward, connects the place with the rest of the world.
